2014 in review

The WordPress.com stats helper monkeys prepared a 2014 annual report for this blog.

Here's an excerpt:

The concert hall at the Sydney Opera House holds 2,700 people. This blog was viewed about 14,000 times in 2014. If it were a concert at Sydney Opera House, it would take about 5 sold-out performances for that many people to see it.

Australia!

Birds and fishes
Horse and bridges
Ice cream cones
And kangaroos
World’s best pies
And fields of green
Sweltering heat
And seas to cool

Welcome to Australia!

All Grown Up

In response to The Daily Post’s writing prompt: “All Grown Up.”

When I was the age of twenty two
I packed my bags and bid farewell
Kissed my father on the cheek
And thanked him for all he had done for me

I moved out of house
I moved out of home
To a tiny apartment
With a colleague to share

On my very first shop
I bought some milk, coffee and tea
And felt as grown up
As one could be

My First Post

Sand

My love for you is
Timeless
Ageless
Written in the Earth

I love you
Now
Forever
And for all Time

My First Ever Post

Which is now the first poem in my book)

Take My Breath Away

Feel the passion
Feel my love
Feel the heat
I feel for you

Hold me
Touch me
Love me
Kiss my breath away

Piña Colada

On a hot day
Cocktail for you
Cocktail for me
A piña colada or two
And another makes three
Cheers!

Summer

(I)
Warmth is a summer’s
Day with not a cloud above –
Sparkling water cold

(II)
Freezing clear waters
Sparkling beneath cloudless skies –
Warm summer’s invite

Ribbons

Against grey backgrounds –
Ribbons the shade of warmth touch
Hearts and lift us up
