Loving Shepherd

childplane_cs1

Loving Shepherd of Thy sheep,
Keep Thy lamb, in safety keep;
Nothing can Thy power withstand,
None can pluck me from Thy hand.

New Life

Ash After Grass Burn

The world is burning alive
Raging red fires lick the Earth
Catching the sky by surprise
Destruction is all around
Desolation in its entirety
Until the hunger is satiated
And finally calmness abounds
From the heat of the fire
Peace descends and rising
Out of the burnt dry black—
New life

Inspired by an initial poem of mine:

All I Have

I have no car
I have no guitar
I have no drums
Or rhythm or song
I have no money
To make my dreams come true
All I have are thoughts,
Words and prayers
And the constant beating
Of my heart

Your Mask

Carnival Of Venice

You wear a mask
To hide your glance
You wear a mask
To hide your stance
You wear a mask
To hide yourself
You wear a mask
To blind yourself
Release your mask!
Reveal yourself

Dying Day

Concept or conceptual young beautiful black cute dog silhouette

The sun set
Causing the day to die
And as the day lay dying, dead
The hope I had nurtured
Died in my heart
As well

Raindrop

image

A drop of rain
Clings tentatively
In time’s brief moment
Until it cannot anymore
It’s grip is lost
Before falling
To the floor

“Ephemeral.”

Prayer

Hands folded in prayer. Instagram effect. Focus on thumbs.

I look to thee
My Lord, my God
I pray to thee
My source of trust
I ask of thee
Thy help and grace
And when my days are lived
I long to see thee
Face to face
Please help me, Lord
I pray

Obstacle

Snail Crossing A Rock Barrier

Moving
With the flow
Swimming
In the ocean
Until an obstacle rises
Into view
As much as I desire
I cannot
I cannot move past
The resistance
My fear
That stopped the motion
There has to be
One other,
Another way
Here I am
Lead me,
Please

Cigar

In response to The Daily Post’s writing prompt: “But No Cigar.”

If things did not work out yesterday
They might work out today, right?
And if not, there’s tomorrow
Perhaps I need a cigar?
