There is a crack in the roof
An invisible line that cannot be seen
And no-one would know, nor perhaps
No-one would care
But when it starts to rain
And the rain turns to a storm
The crack in the roof
Makes itself known

Leaving
I have to go, I said
I don’t want you to, she replied
Please don’t go, she asked
I gave her a hug
Felt her soft shiny hair
Looked into her blue eyes
Turning around
I walked out the door
To a pain in my heart
And tears unspilt
